Draft elemental powers, levitate objects, and race to become nature’s guardian.
In Aether, players are Ærials, masters of telekinesis chosen by Magnus, Grand Master of the Celestial Movement, to compete for succession. Four disciples from the Sacred Houses of Air, Fire, Earth and Water clash in a tournament across the central board, altering elemental currents, levitating objects and fulfilling arcane scrolls. Under shifting celestial alignments, only the one who balances power and stability through technique and guile will be crowned guardian of nature’s equilibrium.
Players draft paired Aether cards and power tokens via a column bidding system, each granting unique elemental effects. Drafted cards fuel two resources, Energy and Stability, which pay costs to levitate objects of varying weight and volatility on individual player mats. Strategic placement and movement unlock patterns on challenge cards for victory points. Rounds continue until a player completes five challenges, triggering final scoring and crowning the new guardian.
